A Brutal Weather Warning

The mountainous southwest is facing a massive meteorological threat today. The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) issued a severe warning for the Al-Baha Region, forecasting moderate to heavy rain accompanied by violently strong winds. The brutal weather system brings the terrifying threat of sudden flash flooding, heavy hail, and dangerous lightning strikes across several local governorates and surrounding valleys.

Near-Zero Visibility

The extreme weather is expected to cause near-zero visibility on the winding mountain roads. The NCM states these highly volatile conditions will continue unabated until 9 p.m. tonight. Local civil defense units are on high alert, warning residents to stay far away from low-lying areas and traditional flood channels.
