Investigation Exposes Iran's 2.3 Billion Dollar Secret Military Supply Network

Tehran uses thousands of agencies to import missile components despite strict Western sanctions

A recent investigation exposed a massive secret military supply network inside Iran. Tehran uses more than 5,000 military-linked agencies to import restricted global equipment. The country successfully imported billions of dollars worth of explosives and missile components. They managed this despite facing heavy Western sanctions and a US naval blockade. One specific agency imported 2.3 billion dollars in military goods recently. Between January 2025 and June 2026, they secured rocket fuel ingredients and aircraft parts. They also imported hundreds of heavy-duty trucks easily adaptable for military operations. Reuters examined shipping records to uncover this massive underground procurement network. The agencies share the official Tehran address of the Ministry of Defense. Some entities connect directly to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The network bypasses sanctions by using overseas intermediaries and shell companies. They fund these purchases using proceeds from sanctioned international oil sales. In almost all shipments, transactions bypassed standard global currency transfers. Iran recently imported 93 metric tonnes of titanium from China. They also secured chemicals used in rocket propellants and explosive devices. This investigation raises serious questions about the overall effectiveness of international economic sanctions.
