Saudi Arabia Chairs Crucial Meeting of the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council

Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council

Securing the Regional Grid

Digital threats ignore national borders, requiring a totally unified regional defence. The Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council held the highly important fourth meeting of its executive office via videoconference today. Saudi Arabia proudly chaired the high-level session, represented by the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), Eng. Majed Al-Mazyed. Senior officials and representatives from various member states logged in to take stock of the region's digital vulnerabilities.

Implementing the Master Strategy

The intense discussions focussed heavily on successfully implementing the comprehensive Arab Cybersecurity Strategy. The officials also chalked out detailed preparations for the council's upcoming third regular session, which is officially scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, later this month. The executive office gave the nod to launch several new initiatives under the master strategy, including a massive Arab programme dedicated to cybersecurity capacity building and public awareness.

Strengthening Member Defences

The council also discussed drafting strict guidelines to drastically strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure across all member states. As cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated, Arab nations must share intelligence and technical resources to protect their critical national grids. Saudi Arabia continues to lead the regional charge in securing the Middle East's digital future.
