Saudi Arabia Chairs 39th Arab Parliament to Tackle Regional Security
King Salman Sponsors Major Arab Summit
Saudi Arabia just took the lead on crucial regional security discussions. The 39th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) kicked off today via videoconference. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sponsored the massive event.
Uniting Arab Legislative Councils
Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, officially chaired the conference. He welcomed parliamentary speakers and heads of delegations from across the Arab world. He noted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman fully supports this push for regional solidarity.
Addressing the Palestinian Cause
Dr. Al Al-Sheikh did not hold back on the region's biggest challenges. He placed the Palestinian cause at the absolute center of the agenda. He stated that Saudi Arabia demands a just and comprehensive peace. The Kingdom insists on an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
A Vision for Shared Arab Stability
The Shura Council Speaker declared that Arab security is a collective responsibility. He demanded strict respect for national sovereignty and peaceful dispute resolution. The conference also reviewed past reports and approved crucial recommendations to strengthen joint Arab action.
