Ministry of Energy Awards 8 New LPG Gas Licenses Across KSA

Ministry of Energy

Shaking Up the Saudi Gas Market

The Ministry of Energy just changed how consumers get their gas. Today, they announced the winning bidders for eight crucial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) licenses. These contracts cover local filling, massive storage, and wholesale distribution.

Meet the Winning Bidders

The Ministry ran a strict prequalification and tender process. They evaluated multiple massive investors before selecting the top contenders.

  • UNIGAZ Arabia Company: Won three filling and storage licenses for Riyadh, Hail, and Al-Ahsa. They also secured a national wholesale distribution license.
  • NGC Energy & Zamil Group: This consortium grabbed two filling licenses for Jeddah and Jazan. They also won national wholesale rights.
  • Best Gas Carrier (Tazweed): Walked away with a highly coveted national wholesale LPG distribution license.

Why This Matters for Consumers

The government wants to expand infrastructure and force market competition. More competition directly creates better service quality. The Ministry expects these new players to ensure highly reliable LPG supplies for everyone. They will raise industry standards and strengthen overall operational performance.
