Meteorology Center Issues Blowing Dust Warning for the Qassim Region
Hazardous Driving Conditions
The National Center for Meteorology issued a strict weather alert on Wednesday. Forecasters warned residents about blowing dust across the Qassim Region. The alert specifically covers Buraidah and several surrounding governorates. Commuters face hazardous driving conditions due to severely reduced visibility. Plying on the roads is incredibly dangerous when you cannot see past your hood. Drivers must slow down immediately and keep their headlights switched on.
Strong Winds Expected
The center forecast brisk winds ranging from 40 to 49 km/h. These strong winds will easily stir up loose desert sand quickly. The official warning remains active from 12:10 a.m. until 6 a.m. Motorists travelling during these early morning hours must exercise extreme caution. Avoid parking your vehicle under weak structures or old trees. Stay indoors if you suffer from respiratory issues during these massive dust storms.
