Global Gold Prices Execute Brutal Drop as American Dollar Surges

Reacting to Federal Reserve Signals

Global gold prices executed a brutal financial drop today. A rapidly strengthening American dollar crushed the precious metal market completely. Nervous investors aggressively assessed new monetary policy signals from the Federal Reserve. The American central bank previously decided to keep interest rates completely unchanged.

Tracking the Falling Valuations

Spot gold dropped 0.7 percent to hit exactly $4,039.26 per ounce. United States gold futures for December delivery also suffered a massive decline. These American futures settled at a dismal $4,051 today. Rising interest rates ruthlessly destroy the international appeal of non-yielding bullion.

Monitoring Other Precious Metals

Other precious metals experienced highly mixed financial results during the session. Spot silver plummeted 0.7 percent to hit $53.60 per ounce. Platinum also declined 0.3 percent to settle at $1,533.50. However, palladium executed a spectacular 0.7 percent surge to reach $1,017.29.
