Labour Day traces its international roots back to the 1880s. Workers in Chicago protested for a fair eight-hour workday. May 1 eventually became a global symbol for basic workplace dignity. Over 160 countries now mark this date as a public holiday.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar maintain regular working hours today. Yet, many companies still acknowledge the occasion informally. This choice creates a powerful voluntary tradition in the Kingdom. People consciously decide to honor the hands that build our nation.
