Dr. Al Rabeeah Outlines Saudi Arabia's Massive $8.5 Billion Global Aid Footprint

The KSrelief Supervisor General addressed a high-level crisis response panel in New York.

Saudi Arabia continues to play a leading role in global humanitarian crisis response. Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah spoke Thursday in New York. He participated in a high-level panel discussion organized by the media platform Devex. The event took place on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly.

The panel focused on meeting the moment during an era of extreme funding constraints. Dr. Al Rabeeah outlined Saudi Arabia's massive humanitarian footprint delivered directly through KSrelief. He noted that the center currently manages operations across more than 110 different countries. Total Saudi aid delivered through these specific programs now exceeds $8.5 billion.

KSrelief executes these critical interventions through strategic international partnerships.

They work closely with UN agencies, international organizations, and a network of trusted local partners. This allows them to deliver aid under restricted humanitarian access and complex field conditions. Dr. Al Rabeeah cited the ongoing crisis in Sudan as a prime operational case study. Following the UN mission drawdown in 2023, KSrelief maintained continuous relief operations there.

They achieved this through on-the-ground partners and international entities like the Red Cross. He also highlighted a joint nine-month comprehensive project with the organization "All Hands and Hearts". This project addresses food security, health, and nutrition for over 208,000 conflict-affected Sudanese individuals.

Dr. Al Rabeeah reaffirmed the absolute imperative of aligning diplomacy with humanitarian action.

He stated that aid must remain anchored in international humanitarian law and foundational principles. It must enable vulnerable communities to transition from immediate crisis to long-term resilience.
