25,000 Carpets Receive Daily Care At The Prophet's Mosque
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques manages a massive daily operation. They keep 25,000 carpets at the Prophet's Mosque impeccably clean and in excellent condition. The dedicated team works around the clock to maintain the sanctity of the holy site. They prepare 153 separate prayer areas throughout the day to serve worshippers and visitors. Maintaining this level of cleanliness requires significant manpower and specialized equipment.
A Rigorous Daily Cleaning And Maintenance Schedule
The daily work includes four complete rounds of carpet sweeping across the entire mosque. The cleaning crews utilize 430 specialized sweeping machines to complete this task efficiently. In addition to sweeping, the team washes more than 400 carpets every single day. They carefully inspect the carpets for wear and treat more than 70 as needed daily. This rigorous maintenance schedule ensures the carpets remain comfortable and hygienic for prayer.
The authority also conducts ongoing disinfection and scenting operations throughout the vast mosque complex. They use more than 450 liters of high-quality disinfectant daily to ensure a sanitary environment. They also apply more than 250 liters of premium fragrance to scent the prayer areas. This creates a deeply pleasant and spiritually uplifting atmosphere for all visiting worshippers. About 25,000 carpets are laid out daily to keep the prayer areas ready.
