Saudi Arabia to host scholars’ meet on Afghanistan next week
Saudi Arabia will host an international conference of Islamic scholars to explore the prospect of establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan next week. The “International Conference of Muslim Scholars on Peace and Stability in Afghanistan” will be held in Jeddah and Makkah on July 10 and 11 respectively, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Eminent scholars from Afghanistan as well as from various parts of the world will attend the conference, which is being convened on the basis of the resolutions of the Islamic Summit and the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states.
The gathering of religious scholars aims at fostering efforts to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan as well as to denounce terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations based on the teachings of the religion of Islam.
