GAFT workshop

Trade experts and government representatives gather in Riyadh to enhance global commerce knowledge.

Promoting International Trade Awareness

The General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) organized a two-day workshop in Riyadh this week. The event took place at the authority's headquarters on April 14 and 15. More than 40 representatives from 15 different government entities attended the sessions. Members from the Gulf Cooperation Council General Secretariat also joined the group. This initiative aims to raise awareness of international trade systems across the Kingdom.

Mastering Goods Classification

The workshop introduced participants to the International Harmonized System for goods. It focused on the coding and classification of various international products. The Saudi technical negotiating team enhanced their knowledge of rules of origin during the event. Specialists also studied trade processing systems to improve their professional skills. These efforts ensure that the Kingdom remains competitive in the global market.

Understanding Complex Trade Rules

Instructors covered the numbering and structure of the Harmonized System. Attendees also learned the general interpretive rules for classifying goods correctly. This knowledge helps officials manage trade operations with greater precision and efficiency. GAFT continues to support the goals of Vision 2030 through these educational initiatives.
