Saudi Roads

Specialized teams and AI technology ensure safe travel for millions of pilgrims.

Total Readiness for Hajj

The Roads General Authority (RGA) recently finalized its operational plans for the Hajj season. Specialized teams and advanced equipment now monitor the entire road network. These preparations ensure the safe and efficient arrival of pilgrims at the holy sites.

Extensive Maintenance and Safety Repairs

Workers completed extensive maintenance across thousands of kilometers of highway. Teams repaved asphalt and inspected bridges to guarantee structural safety. They also installed new safety barriers to protect travelers on high-speed routes.

Operations staff cleared millions of cubic meters of sand dunes from the roads. Engineers also maintained thousands of lighting poles and directional signs for better visibility. These efforts help optimize traffic flow for the massive influx of visitors.

Deploying Advanced AI Technology

The authority utilized over 20 modern technologies for these infrastructure upgrades. An AI-powered survey fleet monitors road conditions in real time. This fleet represents the largest of its kind in the world. Drones also fly over the network to inspect critical bridge structures and tunnels.

Continuous Supervision and Support

More than 300 inspectors provide continuous field supervision during the Hajj season. The 938 call center offers real-time assistance to all road users. The Kingdom currently manages a vast road network exceeding 73,000 kilometers. These efforts reinforce Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in infrastructure quality and connectivity.
