National Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Thursday

Saudi weather forecast

The National Center for Meteorology warns of flash floods and hail in multiple regions.

Severe Weather Conditions Across the Kingdom

The National Center for Meteorology expects moderate to heavy thunderstorms this Thursday. These storms will likely lead to flash floods in several major regions. Residents in Makkah, Madinah, and Riyadh should prepare for significant rainfall. The weather system also brings hail and strong, dust-stirring winds to these areas. Qassim, Hail, and the Northern Borders will experience similar turbulent conditions.

Rain and Fog in Southern and Eastern Regions

The meteorology team predicts moderate rain showers for Al-Baha, Aseer, and Jazan. Parts of the Eastern region will also see damp weather throughout the day. Dense fog might form in these southern and eastern areas during the early hours. Drivers should exercise extreme caution as fog often reduces road visibility significantly.

Marine Conditions in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf

The Red Sea will experience southeasterly to southerly winds in its southern parts. These winds will reach speeds of up to 50 km/h today. Mariners should expect choppy waters as waves might reach two and a half meters. In the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly winds will blow at speeds up to 45 km/h. The sea will remain calm to choppy with waves reaching two and a half meters.
