Criticizing the Rejection of Diplomatic Efforts
The President of the Arab Parliament issued a strong statement today. Mohamed Al-Yammahi firmly condemned Israel’s recent rejection of the proposed peace roadmap. This roadmap aimed to complete the implementation of the Gaza peace plan. It also aligned with the plan endorsed by the UN Security Council. Al-Yammahi described the rejection as a blatant challenge to international will. He views the move as a deliberate attempt to undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Supporting the Joint International Statement
Al-Yammahi stated that diplomatic efforts are essential to ending the regional war. A peaceful resolution is necessary to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. In his statement, he warmly welcomed a recent joint international declaration. Several Arab and Islamic countries issued a statement regarding the stalled peace process. They held Israel responsible for deliberately obstructing crucial regional peace efforts. Finding common diplomatic ground requires significant effort from all mediating parties.
Calling for Firmer International Action
The parliament president called on the international community to take decisive action. He urged regional and international parliaments to adopt a much firmer stance. He requested effective political and legal pressure against Israeli intransigence immediately. Al-Yammahi believes pressure is necessary to compel compliance with the peace roadmap.
