Thousands of Journalists Descend on Makkah

The General Authority of Media Regulation just wrapped up a massive operation for Hajj 1447 AH. They did not hold back this year. Saudi Arabia opened its doors wide to the global press. Over 1,700 local and international journalists arrived to cover the holy pilgrimage. Officials cleared more than 3,500 pieces of heavy media equipment. They issued 218 specific permits for field coverage alone.

This was not just about crowd control. The authority actively empowered the international press. They organized exclusive field tours for over 150 journalists from 22 different countries. Reporters visited vital religious and historical landmarks. The itinerary included the famous Kiswah Factory. They also toured the prestigious King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.

The Saudi government wants top-tier reporting. They hosted more than 20 specialized workshops. Over 1,200 media professionals attended these intense training sessions.
