Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Direct Investment Inflows Surge 33.5% To Reach SAR159 Billion
Total FDI Stock Surpasses SAR1 Trillion Milestone
Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached an impressive SAR159 billion in 2025, jumping 33.5 percent compared to 2024. Official economic data released on Friday also confirmed that the Kingdom's total accumulated FDI stock rose 8.3 percent to reach SAR1.059 trillion. These remarkable figures highlight the rapid acceleration of international capital flowing into the Saudi market over recent years. By 2025, annual foreign direct investment inflows stood at five times their 2017 level, while total FDI stock doubled over the same timeframe. Between 2017 and 2025, annual FDI inflows achieved a compound annual growth rate of 24 percent, while overall stock grew 10 percent annually.
Structural Reforms Boost Global Investor Confidence
Financial analysts noted that the surging inflows reflect rising global investor confidence in the resilience and long-term outlook of the Saudi economy. Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the government has enacted sweeping legislative, regulatory, and structural reforms to modernize the business climate. Establishing special economic zones, streamlining commercial licensing, and expanding public-private partnerships have made the Kingdom a premier global investment hub. Attracting high-quality foreign investment remains a central pillar of Vision 2030's strategy to diversify the national economy away from oil revenues. International capital brings advanced technology, creates skilled jobs for Saudi youth, and strengthens domestic manufacturing and service supply chains.
