Authorities Warn Of Potential Flash Floods And Gusty Winds Today

The National Center for Meteorology issued a comprehensive weather forecast for Thursday. Forecasters predict moderate to heavy rain across several southern and western regions today. These downpours may lead to dangerous flash floods in low-lying valleys and roads. Residents in Najran, Jazan, Aseer, and Al-Baha should prepare for severe weather conditions. The highlands of the Makkah Region will also experience significant rainfall accompanied by hail. The civil defense advises all citizens to avoid crossing flooded wadis during these storms.

Dust Storms And Marine Conditions

The eastern parts of the Kingdom will see slightly different weather patterns. Light rain showers will fall across the southern parts of the Eastern Region. Meanwhile, gusty, dust-stirring winds will blow across several major central and western areas. These winds will affect visibility in the Eastern, Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and Tabuk regions. Maritime activities face moderate conditions along the coasts today. Winds over the Red Sea will blow northwesterly to westerly at 12 to 35 km/h. Waves will reach up to one and a half meters, keeping the sea relatively calm. In the Arabian Gulf, winds will blow northwesterly to southwesterly at 10 to 30 km/h. The wave heights will also remain around one and a half meters. Authorities urge motorists to drive cautiously through dust storms and heavy rain.
