KSrelief Supervisor Highlights Over $177 Million in Aid for Rohingya Refugees
Addressing a Deeply Concerning Crisis
Saudi Arabia stands firmly with the Rohingya refugees. KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah participated in a high-level UN event. The United States, United Kingdom, and several other nations organized this gathering. The event took place during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Al Rabeeah addressed the deeply concerning humanitarian situation facing the Rohingya people. Over one million refugees currently live in Bangladesh. These families depend entirely on external humanitarian assistance for their survival. Al Rabeeah stressed that their daily needs are rapidly escalating. Meanwhile, global funding for this specific crisis remains severely limited.
The Kingdom’s Financial Commitment
The 2026 Joint Response Plan requires over $710 million in funding. This money supports approximately 1.6 million refugees and local host communities. "Since 2017, Saudi Arabia has provided over $177 million," Al Rabeeah stated. This massive funding helps alleviate the severe impact of the refugee crisis. KSrelief works closely with both international and local partners. They fund projects supporting food security, emergency shelter, and clean water. Al Rabeeah emphasized that humanitarian aid alone cannot solve the problem. Authorities must create safe conditions inside Myanmar for voluntary refugee returns. Saudi Arabia remains committed to building a safe future for the Rohingya. Discover how Saudi Arabia supports vulnerable populations worldwide.
