KSrelief And WHO Sign Joint Program To Treat Malnourished Children In Yemen

KSrelief WHO joint program

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a crucial joint executive program yesterday. They partnered with the World Health Organization to combat severe acute malnutrition in Yemen. The program will purchase and distribute therapeutic response packages for vulnerable children. These packages will reach 35 nutritional care centers operating across the country.

The signing ceremony took place during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of KSrelief, signed the agreement. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus co-signed the document on behalf of his organization. This program addresses one of the most pressing health crises currently facing the Yemeni population.

Strengthening Strategic Partnerships For Humanitarian Relief

The initiative forms part of Saudi Arabia's broader efforts to support the region. KSrelief seeks to strengthen its strategic partnership with the WHO through these joint programs. Together, they provide essential medicines, medical equipment, and specialized treatment for children. Addressing acute malnutrition requires a coordinated and sustained international response.

The nutritional care centers in Yemen rely heavily on these therapeutic response packages. The packages contain specialized food products designed to restore health and promote growth. The conflict in Yemen has severely disrupted local food supplies and healthcare services. International aid organizations play a vital role in providing life-saving assistance to affected communities.

This joint program highlights the Kingdom's commitment to alleviating suffering in neighboring countries. Saudi Arabia consistently ranks among the top donors of humanitarian aid globally. The collaboration with the WHO ensures the aid reaches those who need it most efficiently. Both organizations remain dedicated to improving the health outcomes of children in Yemen.
