Historic Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer Route Welcomes Hajj Pilgrims
Authorities prepare the ancient path for thousands of arriving worshippers.
Reviving a Historic Pathway
The Hajj season brings life back to the Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer route. People historically called this ancient path Qarn Al-Manazil. It serves pilgrims arriving from Najd and the eastern Arabian Peninsula. The route holds deep religious and historical significance for Muslims. It acts as one of the five designated miqats for Ihram.
A Scenic and Accessible Journey
The beautiful road extends from Taif directly toward Makkah. It descends from the stunning heights of Al-Hada and Al-Shafa. Travelers pass through scenic valleys and mountain passes. They eventually reach the town of Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer. This route offers the most accessible option for eastern pilgrims.
Modern Facilities for Worshippers
The Roads General Authority completed significant development works recently. The Miqat Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer Mosque serves thousands of visiting pilgrims. The facility features integrated ablution areas and clean water services. Officials also provided spacious bus parking for travel convenience.
