Authorities Record Thousands of Residency and Labor Violations

The Ministry of Interior detains illegal border crossers during strict weekly campaigns.

Conducting Nationwide Inspections

The Ministry of Interior conducted massive inspection campaigns this week. Officers actively checked compliance with residency, labor, and border laws. They recorded 11,175 total violations across Saudi Arabia. This staggering number includes 6,153 residency and 1,403 labor violations.

Catching Illegal Border Crossers

Border authorities apprehended 1,411 individuals attempting illegal Kingdom entry. Yemenis made up 36 percent of these illegal border crossers. Ethiopians accounted for another 62 percent of the total arrests. Officers also arrested 23 people for trying to leave illegally. Furthermore, police detained 19 individuals for transporting and sheltering violators.

Enforcing Strict Regulations

Nearly 29,000 expatriates currently face strict regulatory enforcement procedures. Authorities instructed over 19,000 detainees to contact their respective embassies. The government also successfully repatriated 11,272 individuals to their home countries.

A Strong Warning to the Public

The Ministry issued a very strong warning to the public. Citizens must never facilitate illegal entry or provide illegal shelter. Violators face up to 15 years in prison for these crimes. The government may also issue fines reaching SAR 1 million. Authorities will permanently confiscate any vehicles or properties used for smuggling.
